Anyone find that there cat was clogged. Heard a guy took his off and got 3 more mpg. Mine has 125k and my boost has dropped from 38 to 32. Wondering if that might be the culprit. Fuel filter is clean and no boost leaks.Got one of those test pipes in 99
and always thought the general consensus was the cats did not really
affect performance. Any thoughts would be appreciatted. thanks RJ

Came back to edit this to the right forum ( 2nd Gen Powertrain ) but
cant find a way to transfer . My one finger is about out of fuel.

I've had them clogged in gassers, but I haven't heard of it in a Diesel, but then again depending on what year of truck you have (fill in your sig) you might not even have a cat, my '01 had a resonator instead...

Your truck didn't come with a cat (1997 model?). Just a resonator and muffler.

the 97 was the year that did have the cats

12v had cats (94-98)
24v had resonators (98.5-02)
