biggest tire size 01 3500 stock 16"

i'm tired of the crappy little ol 235/85 tires, and was wanting to go bigger, i know that with the 17's i'd have a bigger selection, but with the dang metric tire sizes i don't have a clue, i'm wanting what would equal out to be something like a 33 x 10.5 or something close to it. would a 265/75 be close??

not wanting a mud tire, alterrain or street tread only...

and i'm not going to go with the newer 17's either, hate the prices and selection

thanks

I have 285/75R16 on mine but i had to use a spacer in the back between the tires. A 255/85R16 will fit without a spacer. i think it is something like a 33-10 and a 285/75 is a 33-11.5

2" spacer 315X75r16 (35x12.5) Makes the rear tires stick out bad. Like 3". Unsafe without flares, and no flares available for the duallie, I don't think. I use those horribly ugly rubber flexy flares.

If you are not concerned enough about traction to go mud tires I would suggest pizza cutters. Then you can fit 'em without a spacer and you won't need the flares. 255x85r16's are about 33.5" tall and about 10.5" wide. I think they would clear just fine.

i'm not worried about the traction, i've got 6 dang near slick tires and i still go anywhere i need to...people just need to learn that if you spin the tire fast enough you might just get through it...

i was looking at the 255/85s and will probably go with them

i hate how dodge puts a 4" lift on the trucks and puts such a small sissy tire on...i hate having 2' of open space between the fender and the tire...just wanted to get a tire that would fill the fenderwell a little better.

thanks for the help.

I can't remember where i got mine. Look in the back of diesel power and there will be a add in there for a place that sells them. I may have mine for sell here soon if you want them. I'm making my truck into a SRW. So if i like it i will be selling the bed and front and back spacer. Let me know

it's gonna be sometime after the first of the yr before i'm ready to get some new tires....i might just save my pennies and get a set of bolt on 19.5s and run them....

i might just run the 255's still undecided...ya know...depends on $$$ and tread...thanks though for the info.

255/85/16 Cooper discoverer st's, tall and narrow so no spacer is required I believe they are 33-34" tall and 7-8" wide, I ran them on my 01 3500 and loved them.
:thumbsup what kind of mileage did you get out of them?

I believe like the 285 and 305 sizes are about 33" tall
the reason why i had the ??? about the 305s is well all the 305's i've used on my other trucks are 305/75/r16s so that's like 33X12.5X16 to wide for me...
