I'm looking for pictures and suggestions. I am wanting to run big tires on my 2006 and I don't mean 35s or 37s like everyone and their brother runs...I want to run 39.5s through 42s. I know it is an ambitious goal...I know it's because I'm compensating...I know that it will tear through front end parts. Other than that what size lift would I need to clear these and still be able to turn left and right and do some mild offroading. I'm not opposed to bushwacker cuts outs or anything like that. Currently the truck is leveled and running Firestone airbags in the rear.

If you want it to ride well, it's gonna cost. Carli, Thuren, DOR. If you go cheap, you're gonna regret it... CJC on here is a sponsor, talk to him.

Appreciate it. I am not planning on going cheap on this...granted it's going to be a while before I am able to do it but I want to do it right. I want to find someone running a similar setup to know lift size. I don't like or agree with 6" of lift to run 35s or anything like that...I can't stand trucks that don't fill the wheel wells. No offense if that's what people are into but not on my truck but I also don't like it when guys throw 40s on stock trucks and can't understand why gets torn up. Looking to keep center of gravity low and increase ground clearance.

If you ran a 8" long arm with 40"s. that would be a good amount of tire and the minimum lift I think. I got 6" and could run 38s with
A Bit more trimming.

Wow...that truck is awesome!! Thanks a ton. That is definitely something like I'm talking about. I want to stay with something similar in size to the Toyo 40. Something not as wide as I don't care as much for 15.50 wides and don't want to buy new wheels and I don't like 22s on 40s or anything too flashy

You are on here too! LOL.

JP (Rock Krawler as well as Pure Performance)

To the OP

Check out any of our 8" Systems! I would recommend an 8" Triple Threat or Chase Series System and glass front fenders for 40's with alot of ability!

Yes...upgraded my tow rig from an 05 Duramax dually to a 12 3500 SRW now that my son is away to college and we won't be pulling 3 jeeps on a wedge trailer.

What are the specs on your current wheels since you don't want to get rid of them? That will play a big role in tire fitment.

To run 40's with minimal lift on a 3rd Gen you will need around 6" of lift as well as front and rear fiberglass fenders. You will want to run a long arm setup that moves the front axle forward a bit along with a higher clearnce front bumper. You will need to run wheels with 4.5" of backspace or less to clear the long arms although you can still expect some rubbing if you run a wider tire like the Toyo's.

Anyone know if Bushwackers would give enough clearance or would I have to run the pre runner flares? I am a much bigger fan of normal fenders but am willing to run the pre runner flares if it's my only option. I know I'm going to get crap for it but I am really a fan of Interco tires as well. I plan on running Irok Radials, SSRs or TrXus MTs. None are 40s+ except the Iroks...I have run TSLs in the past and would consider a bias ply since I don't do much freeway driving but haven't run them on a 3/4 ton before only on old 1/2 tons.

If you're going to be out in the stumps at the end of the month, come out to the DTX meet in Ocotillo Wells, you can see and ride in a bunch of rigs and talk to a lot of experienced people in person before buying anything.
