another thumbs down for gates... did one back in 2014 & it lasted approx 2 years, 50~70k miles (I add approx 30k/yr).

Have had zero issues with the Gates belts.

@nosympathy the updated pump has an extra vane if I'm not mistaken?
do you recall what that did for your cooling behavior?

I may need to swap pumps at some point, since the EWP went bad and I went back to the cummins bought pump, at some point it will retire.

@steve05ram360 I didn't notice any changes in cooling behavior. I did some digging prior to getting it and found where people were swapping to them a little bit back to no changes as well. I was mostly worried about it working as well as the pump intended for our years. Couldn't find any downsides, only the fact it's wasted money if your current pump works fine.

It does have the extra vane compared to the gates I pulled out and it is some composite material instead of metal. Some of the threads I found, found it to be very tough whatever it is.

I really just got it because it was either $50 + $40-50 belt or $180 for a 89-12 cummins pump and there are lots of 6.7L trucks out there with them and the only thing I ever heard of was the old design catching fire.

Once upon a time I read that the 6.7 guys were switching down tot he 5.9 pump after they deleted. I recall them mentioning that the pump was making it difficult to get to temp and the swap back to a 5.9 pump fixed that for them. I am wondering if that pump might help the e-fans perform a bit better... thinking of @spooled05 who continues to use the Taurus fans in his setup. Mine continues to work fine unloaded, even the recent tow did not prove to be an issue for it with temps in the mid 80's on departure. (had both fans hooked up and switching to low setting when needed.) Next time I need a pump, I might give it a shot just for the heck of it and understand how it performs with the fan setup I run.

Well to be fair I put it in when it was in the 40s-50s this year. So don't know what a cold winter is like.

Otherwise gets up to temp like normal in the spring/summer.

sucks to eat the price but when mine when out at 130k I did some reading on here an guys made it pretty easy go with the factory part that lasted 130k or take your chances on a cheap one that could go out in a week

Think gates has gone downhill. My gates pump had a loose bearing after maybe 20-30K miles and my gates tensioner didn't last long. Idler pulley made it maybe 5-10K miles longer than the pump. Their belts are another problem.

I went with the improved 6.7L OEM waterpump + a slightly smaller belt since the pulley is smaller. Can't beat $50 for an OEM pump.
My gates tensioner pulley was almost bad out of the box. I’m still running it because I never drive the truck but I have to keep an eye on it. I’m wondering myself if there QA/QC has slipped. Doesn’t mean it would effect ALL their parts though. Maybe?
