I cant decide which programmer to buy. So many choices out there. I am going to be hauling a cattle trailer often and just normal driving other times. I need something good for towing and some extra pep, but not worried about racing much. Any help would be appreciated.

i recomend the edge, even though you may not need all the power the edge gives you but the gauges really help while towing and also there is a towing performance level. i tow big boats as part of my job and i am very soon buying the edge for the gauges and also the increase in performance.

i would have to say edge.....as of right now that seems to be the best programmer out as of right now that you can buy and tow with.

Yep, the Edge would be a good choice. Gauges, built in safety features, power and some mileage.

i was thinking the mp8 and guages only cause its said to be undetectable .

would the edge be the way to go instead.

my heaviest trailer is floatin around 18000 lb and i just put on the 22.5's

What setting would you run the edge on? Is the fuel mileage increase going to be as much as the mp-8? I have been hearing good things about it. I want the best mpg that I can get. Thanks again.

Nothing is 100% undetectable. The MP-8 and gauges is a good choice as well.

I set my Edge on 1 or 2 depending on the weight.

The MP-8 generally gives a little better mileage than the Edge. Most people see a 2mpg increase vs a 1-1.5mpg increase with the Edge.

I just leave them both cranked. Its all about how you work that skinny pedal. I get the best mileage with a light foot and the chips maxed out.

21.2 mpg right now and have the edge on 3 and mp at around 70% for 3 months

The same with my hypertech E-con,I get better mileage on program B (80hp) than A (44hp). But when I step on it that 430 hp(350+80) kicks my:butt::peelout And pretty much everybody elses:lol3:

I think most of the *problems* we're seeing are from people running these, or the EGR deleted when they still have the DPF.

Theres a lot of info here, but I think most of the newbies are jumping into it the wrong way.

i would say get the edge/attitude as well. I get great overall performance around town on level 3 and love towing in 1 or 2.

The attitude monitor actually saved my tranny this weekend. I had the alarm set for 220 and when it went off i was able to pull over till it cooled down. If i didnt have the attitude monitor i would have kept going and burned up my tranny.

EDGE gets a huge :thumbsup

Wow Looks like we have some Edge fans and hey thats great. But, I have a landscaping buisness and a construction company ,I tow daily and am very very pleased with Bully Dogs PMT the temps are less than the edge when towing and I know because I still have the Edge Juice with Attitude\ hott unlock that I pulled off the truck about a month ago. The bully dog also keeps the CEL's cleared a lot better than the Edge if you have deletes, not to mention the truck Rips with the PMT!!!!!! :thumbsup

i vote for the PMT. its a little more pricy, but i think it promises bigger things in the future when the edge wont... my $.02...
