I would also like to hear what people say about this.
Stock box, run the stock 4" filter. You won't find another one that has the same filtration and flow, and it's good for 450-500 rwhp with a Home Depot mod.
^^^^beat me to it!! Stock box with te 4 inch filter

OK stupid ? time. What do you mean by 4 inch filter in stock box. Anyone have pictures of how that works and what filter do you use
There are 2 OEM filters, a discontinued (but some places still have) 2" filter, and a 4" filter.

The dealership will know what you are talking about.
So you are saying just run the stock filter?

Yep, can't beat it under 450-500 rwhp.
Looks like I will be throwing the k&n in the garbage tonight! The problem is that I bought my truck with it installed so no way to tell how long it's been on my truck.
Yep, I changed to that 4 inch factory filter and it turned my 03 235hp into a real beast, lol. BTW, what's the home depot mod?
It's the cut a 4" hole in the air box, use a toilet flange and run a pipe behind the bumper for cold air modification. I did something similar but I think it's a little cleaner.

I would have to say the corrugated piping with zip ties to keep it in place is not cleaner, nor as smooth flowing. It all does about the same in the end, but a straight smooth shot to the filter will work better..

FWIW, a piece of 3" smooth PVC will flow enough for ~500 rwhp.

why not just go with 6" to set yourself up for 1000rwhp?
S&B is another option.

IMO cleaner than a toilet flange. It was the first go around. One of those get it finished kind of things

I built the DIY kit and used a 4 in piece of pipe from my exhaust to extend the 90 degree hose into a 4 inch inlet AMSOIL micro dry filter, whistles like a jet and keeps my egts down and has a 4 year life on it with a yearly full cleaning
