I went with a goerend's tranny, they are reasonably priced and have a good warranty. Its been holding up really good and I am happy with the tranny.
HTS hands down!
I don't have a Goerend transmission, I built mine.

But I have a couple of friends that were having problems, they called Dave, yes they actually got to talk to "the man".
He asked questions, had them do operational tests (remember at this point they hadn't bought anything from him, nor were they obligated to). After his phone diagnostics, he gave them solutions.

I'm pretty familiar with the early 48re, I also have 20 years rebuilding Caterpillar and John Deere transmissions, So I can confidently say that Dave didn't try to sell them a bill of goods. He got to the root of the problem and gave them best low cost options for their current situation.
They took his advice and it is working great.

To me Dave has the best product support I have ever seen
HTS gets another vote.
all Goerend all the way! Won't be disappointed also like dhoagland said best tech support around.
I've got a Goerend. Very happy with it.
