If I didn't have the crappy looking DIY liner from the PO, I wouldn't worry about it.I have played with a couple of DIY ones, even the Raptor liner with all its rave reviews, with a spray gun I did in my 00'. Prepped properly, fully sanded and primed. It just chips too damn easy and loose worse than a scratched up bed. I will never use, nor recommend any of the DIY gimmicks out there again, not on a real truck that actually does work... maybe good for a f150?
Personally, I prefer factory painted metal bed, no liner, let it scratch its a truck is it not? I have plastic drop in liner (old school) that I toss in at my discretion. I got it for $10 used at a yard sale. It works great for dirty stuff and its stronger than any other bed protection product out there. I love tucking a parp under it and over my tailgate before loading up a yard of dirt/rock/mulch, it makes unloaded great.
If you have a old DIY line in place now I bet a 3k PSI power washer gets it all off pretty easy.. you going to want to strip it off before re-doing it it will look even worse. If I didn't have the crappy looking DIY liner from the PO, I wouldn't worry about it.
My truck very rarely has anything in the bed, so a Raptor would probably work.
I did ask for an estimate from LineX and I think I am going to paint match the white.
Definitely will need to strip the old one, pressure wash won't quite cut it.If you have a old DIY line in place now I bet a 3k PSI power washer gets it all off pretty easy.. you going to want to strip it off before re-doing it it will look even worse.
LineX will remote it as well, either with sand or water.
The raptor liner I had would defiantly come off with a pressure washer. There was already a ton of chips down to the primer in it form use.Definitely will need to strip the old one, pressure wash won't quite cut it.
I wonder if the SCT will take it off.
