I HATED mine, it caused my NV5600 to shift horribly. I was afraid I would screw up the syncros, so I took it off after about 5,000 miles and it is back shifting like butter and like it did before. One of my only regrets with the truck so far.

i'm almost with him on the 6spd but mine i can't shift very fast because of the DD clutch so i really didn't gain awhole lot really, lol but might be different with a single clutch, not to sure. also takes some time gettin used to. seems like i want to hit reverse instead of 5th alot since i put it on.

I was very happy with the short shift in the 5600. But like said above, it takes some getting used too.

I'm not sure if they make them for the 5 speed guys....I could be wrong though. It's been a while since I looked at them.
yeah i believe they do make them for the 5spd guys. i'd say it would really help them out, as our 03 5spd is just like shiftin gears on our graintrucks lol

Well, mine is an NV4500, most vendors I have found sell either the nv4500 kit or the NV5600 kit for around $270 or so. I would think it would be a pretty cool mod for a 5 speed.

I had one on my last truck. Loved it. My current truck doesn't have one, and it seems so much more sloppy. I like the tightness of one with a short shift.

That is why I left mine on for so long to get used to it. "Getting used to" it did not improve the shifting quality with it on. It was very clunky and hard to get into gear at times no matter how I shifted it or how long I left it on. You might talk to a trans shop about short shifters and get their advice on them. My 2 mechanics at the shop I used to own hated them and said so many vehicles with short shifters had syncro problems that they saw and they had rebuilt TONS of transmissions.

No not yet, I have not been in real hurry lately, my dodge is at my Dads in New Mexico, I am going up there for the 4th anyhow and i'll bring it back to Texas, I think I'll get it ordered though, put it in and get used to it on the drive home for 8 hours. Get into a pickup race with my wife, she drives the ford in my sig.:peelout HEHE
