Was up guys
short version
batteries 3 months old. used anti corrosion spacer and red protective spray. driver side bolt holds positive cable to battery terminal all ready has corrosion.
What could be wrong? (loose ground wire or loose wire some where)
After checking cable connections. Using a meter what kind of readings should i get. Where to check? at alternator or battery or grounds make sure good continuity. Stupid question but is voltage always dc in vehicle or does it go to ac after alternator.
Note: truck starts up fine. cranks for 2 or 3 seconds and fires up.
Long version
Put new auto craft (i think need to double check) in November 2012. I clean cable ends up from all the corrosion. Use cloth spacers to help with corrosion. and use red spray in can to protect from future corrosion. yesterday pop the hood just check oil make sure every thing looks ok. Noticed corrosion on bolt on driver side positive all ready had some corrosion.
So we bought this cummins back in November. Batteries were Chrysler batters. Corrosion was terrible on both drive side and passenger side. Kinda of a pain in the but because post come out of battery when trying to take cable off.
I have read or herd that all mopar vehicles are bad for this. After checking and making sure all connections are good. Do i need to order new cables or have some made up.
Any tips or advice would be greatly apprechated
