ok so i have a buddy thats a manager of a ntb,and one of the guys that work there is the only person ill let work on my truck ive known him for 3yrs and he is an awsome tech he did work on my camaro chevy hd and powerstroke, , yesterday he replaced my front pads that were worn out at 40k witch is b/s because i replaced my f-250 first set at 67k and the chevy i sold at 70k still had factory pads, now i dont pull trailers and i go overkill on maintaning my cars and truck, and i dont put that much weight in the bed , well anyways with that said i always have him check everything grease everything ,well he pushed on the bottom of the tire with a crowbar and on the driver side theres about 1/4th of play ,passanger theres 1/16 of play , so now i have to replace the ball joints,on top of that ive already had to replace both bats, and the a/c broke,i hate to say it im starting to regret i got rid of my powerjoke traded it in at 267k and all i did is 2 bats, brake and normal maint,

dodge

I have had to replace basically the whole front end by 100K I agree on dodge oem junk. I replace with Napa quality parts and things have been:thumbsup

I had a 1999.5 F350 powerstroke and traded w/237,000 miles...that truck was a tank.. the cummins motor is the only reason to not regret my decision on trading my Ford in, I really liked that truck

These are the ball joints you need

They are very close to being available to the public from Carli suspension.
I have been running them for quite some time. They are a massive improvement over anything on the market.

Any axle with Ball-Joints has their problems. Kingpins are a better design, but even those wear, too.

My factory one's went out at 80k miles and I had all 4 done. 164k miles total now and they are still tight. I've replaced one hub, front pads need work every year and a half. The front end on these trucks suck.

It'll hold them :lol3: Some people have had bad luck, but when replaced they seem to be all set. As far as IFS, you can keep it :lol3: You must have had some good luck with that front end. I've seen some continuous problems with those. I guess it's all the luck of the draw :w:

If I get 80K miles out of these new ball joints and axle u-joints then I'll be happy and would call that normal and expected. By then there will be better products out there.
I thought I read somewhere that AAM is responsible for (manufacture) these ball joints and axle u-joints ... and they think they are just fine with a very low failure rate.
