I took out everything in the torque tube, is that ok or am I gonna something up?

I tried using some high temp silicone i had sittin around the garage to reseal the tube, but a few hours later it wouldn't hold up so I went and bought some black high temp silicone, haven't checked to see if its fully set up, and if I got it completly can this cause problems if I don't have it sealed up 100%? thanks

epoxy will work best. I used some RTV to seal it and hold it some, then put a layer of real tightly stretched electrical tape around the outside. It works pretty good and you cant see it at all. I just did that cause I was lazy though and didn't feel like going to buy epoxy.

Yes you can have problems if you don't get it completely sealed. It would be sort of like not having an air filter. Seal it up good!
