Filled up Yesterday to a full tank, I drove 55 miles and around the city, with the majority of the miles unloaded and some pulling 1k. 55 miles and now my fuel gauge is between 3/4 and full, which is about 4.25 gallons into 55 miles. If im correct that comes out to about 12MPG. I have seen worse with about 9MPG all unloaded. Im running the Smarty revolution proram on SW#1 with Tq on 0, Timing on 0, and Rail pressure on 1. I have changed my fuel filter and Milage is still in the hole. Any suggestions would much of help!!! :thumbsup:thumbsup Thanks guys

There is a chance it didn't get all the way full.
That would of improved his MPG number...:lol3:

No but seriously I would take a look at my write up on MPG's... I'm doing rather well...:w:

Better MPG's

You cannot truly judge mileage only by a 55 mile run. Do a whole tank for an accurate measure.....then you know where you stand!!

A few years ago, I filled up a little North of the Tennessee border in KY. After about 80 miles of driving, my overhead lie-O-meter was reading 38mpg!!! It's mostly down hill!!!! By the time that tank was gone, the mpg's were just a little above normal for highway driving!!

Except he is talking about where the guage is already sitting after 55 miles, not what it took to fill... :lol3:
Exactly my point, sometimes i'll go 150 miles in 17 gallons. Thats what I did last week, mainly alll city and unloaded.

Its consistently the same thing, im real easy on it too. I just don't get it.

Yeah I can tell I am in the 19 range when I am at 200 miles at 3/4 and ~400 at 1/2.
There you go... That is a good land mark on the gauge...:thumbsup

since you are driving mostly city try turning your smarty up to level 3 or 5. it will take less go pedal to get you moving. most my driving is city driving and i run level five, i have 4.10's, my last tank was 17.3 mpg hand calculated.

Thats what I was doing a long time ago, I didn't see much of a difference but it varied from time to time. I'll try 5 again and watch my milage from there. Any Idea's what I should run my options on?
Heres what i was going to do...TQ-2, Timing -0 and Rail -2.

I'm running SW5 default settings on my Smarty and the overhead lie-O-meter is reading 23.8mpg. Close to half of this tank has been towing my work trailer. I've got 421 miles on this tank and the fuel gauge is just now starting to touch the 3/8 line!!!! This is gonna be a good tank mileagewise!!!!!:hyper::hyper:

Thats excellant, well I put my Smarty to SW5, running the following settings. TQ 2, timing 2, wastegate 0, and rail pressure 1. Im not sure whether to keep the timing at 2 for more than stock advanced timing... If you say you have everything at default how are you getting those numbers with low idle response?

Try timing on 4, like ThatGuy said. It may or may not help ya. Try varying rail pressure as well. With that it's hit or miss, just vary one thing at a time and try to keep your driving habits consistent...then you'll be able to see what does/doesn't work for your truck.
