I have a customer`s 2001 Vermeer Woodchipper. it has a Cummins Model B3.3 Diesel engine. This one definitely Blue smokes, not white.
Doesn`t smoke until 5 to 15 seconds after engine has reached maximum governed RPM under load.
Runs good and strong with just a hint of black smoke while accelerating under load. Then a few seconds after governed speed is reached, she blue smokes, misfires and loses a lot of power.
I have tried new fuel filter, oil and filter change.
Took off turbo to intake tube, and loosened exhaust manifold to find smoke is coming directly out of exhaust ports, so that should eliminate the turbo being at fault.
Took off fuel line to filter from the tank, and pulled fuel directly from a 2 gallon Gerry Can. No improvement.
I`m stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards

Anyone come up with a cause for this. Got the same problem. May run okay for a while then thick blue smoke from the exhaust.
