well i cant seem to make up my mind with what turbo i want to go with but i came across the aurora 3000 and it seems to be a very nice looking turbo with fast spool up. i'm just wondering if it will be able to support 130-150 hp injectors along with the juice??? i'm also going to be running water/meth injection. I'm also thinking about maybe doing a few sled pulls this summer so would i be alright there or not?

The Aurora 3000 is a nice turbo, but for what you are planning it will be to small. Look at BD SUPER B and BD SUPER B SPECIAL. Also Industrial Injection makes some great turbos.

The 4000 is good. The only problem with the bigger ATS turbos is there is no waste gate. So controlling you boost is a problem, unless you have a studded head.

If you ever want to put an exhaust brake on your pickup, you will need the wastegate. Don't sell yourself short now, plan for the long term. The turbo is not going to be cheap, I would recommend the BD, but High Tech also has some nice turbos, both spool very quickly.

High Tech is good. Running one now as a matter of fact. Only thing is on a stock motor, it has way more lag. Other than that, it supports the Smarty real good.

ok sounds like the aurora turbo isnt for me. So what other turbo would you recommend with 130-150 injectors that spools fast and wont kill my pocket?? I've been looking at the BD super b special and that seems to be a really nice turbo?????

Heck, I'd at least give ATS a call, the 3000 is good to over 500hp. I haven't read of anyone really standing behind aurora turbos in this forum. Kinda wonder why that is. Either way, they are great turbos, still unsure why they wouldn't work with an exhaust brake, considering ATS makes those as well. Just like most smaller turbos, you can use the 3000 to upgrade to a compound set up with a 5000 later on, is that not a good plan for the long term? My 2 cents anyway.

The ats turbos are very good....reliable and produce some impressive numbers....what you are looking at doing the 3000 would be a little small....it does have very very fast spool up times....the 4000 would be a good choice....but you will be lacking the faster spool up times.....I don't know why like someone stated....no one on here really has much good to say about their turbos....maybe lack of knowledge of them....or price issues....not sure....but I have ran every turbo made by them....and have the 3000 in a compound set up now ..... I wouldn't personally run anything else....just my two cents....but I wouldn't run from them

Bumping up an old topic but I am curious why a wastegate is required for an exhaust brake?:confused013:

Torquey I am thinking of getting the ATS 3000 and the Pulse manifold for my truck, I will only be using it as a daily driver and don't really plan on pulling anything.I will be using 125 SDX injectors with the turbo.Would you reccomend this setup

I have exhaust brake on mine,Ats told me it was fine and i have had no issues. My a3k fully supported edge juice on level 6 and 100hp injectors.I have 200s now and it doesnt do too bad but it is a little small for 200s.
Guess i will have to put the a5k under it,OH and by the way i run 52# of boost.Yes out of the map for the a3k but it is what it is.......
