So I pulled my rear shaft to take it to get new Ujoints and balanced and there was a bit of ATF in the yolk. Fluid level in the cas is fine. Im guessing this is not normal and my rear output seal is shot. its an 05 2500. Am I correct? Thanks

if the ATF is inside the slip yoke where the splines are, then it's normal. there is not seal between the splines of the yoke and the output shaft splines.

if you're leaking ATF on the outside of the yoke then you might want to replace the output shaft seal, yes.

Nice..... I did not notice any grease on the splines. Do I grease this thing before i put it back in?

you shouldn't need to grease anything when you reinstall. if the slip yoke is totally dry you might wipe some ATF around it with your finger just so it doesn't tug on the seal as you slide it back in.

a little lube can go a long way. :D
