i was reading somewhere on arp studs you have to run 1000 miles with no boost pressure to seat the studs and everything. has anyone else heard that? And how are you driving that far without boost?!

Did you check them again after driving a few hundred miles?

New head gasket? Or did you swap them 1 at a time?

Retorques are required IMO, but there is no "break in" procedure

Whole new motor. Decked surface destroked pistons and brand new head with std gasket. I will definitely be retorquing but don't know what's the best mile age or length of run time

I would do just a few real easy heat cycles and then do a retorque. Then put a couple dozen more heat cycles in it and retorque again. If the nuts don't move a lot then your good to go.

Yep, I just did a retorque in my H11s last night and all my valves were a few thousandths tight afterwards.
