Try the search function bud you'll find tons of info on them
I can't recall ever hearing a bad thing about Jeff's trans.
Yeah I did that and just wanted to see if there was anything new that might have come up about them
From what I have read you will not regret spending top $ with Jeff Garmon!
That's all I keep reading. The only reason I was asking is because suncoast is a little more than an hour drive and garmons was about 5 1/2. Just trying to decide which one
Earnie at Suncoast is great as well! I would go Garmon though! Very Hospitable well!

I have heard some "different" things about Garmon.

There is a couple people that feel differently.

I'd recommend FirePunk Diesel. Its a drive for you but Lavon, his crew and their transmissions really are great! But like I stated its kind of a drive for you and if you're not into traveling then yeah.. (i would make the hike if i were you..)

Go with Suncoast. There are plenty of guys running them, their a big company, offer a good product and are closer to you.

Suncoast builds a great trans, is close to you and stands behind their products.

I would highly recommend a Pro Street Diesel(Georgia)transmission. He has some of the most proven trannys out there.

Just saying as general perspective.
I still do not follow what you're getting at.
Everybody knows exactly who and what you're referring to with your Garmon / Firepunk comments. Just sayin'

My personal experience with Jeff and Amy is that they provide top notch customer service. Very happy with Garmon.

I would suspect the worse thing about a gArmon trans, is that you never get to work on it again, or for a long time. One of the best, in the same group as Goerends.

I am struggling with a truck I bought with an ATS.
Getting this truck to shift right and do what it is suppose to do has been a battle. Going to build another Vb.
It is either over or under the torque curve.
Truth is there a bunch of quality trans builders... I personally wouldnt do a suncoast only because there very exspensive.. Garmon obviously knows what hes doing.. Rich from doghouse uses him and hes over 1k and races a ton... Goerend is proven, and i wouldnt change my HTS for anything, and firepunk is making a name for himself, from what ive seen lately..Go with who ever is closest to you... Good luck:thumbsup:

My firepunk comment was and is made from my own personal experience.

Firepunk is a business, Garmon is a business, DTT is a business, ATS is a business, suncoast is a business.. Guess what no one has a problem coming on here and saying they have to deal with a pos purple trans or suncoast is doing something wrong.. But if it's a "little" guy or mom pop shop then everyone looses there bananas and you can't talk about it..
Looked at the firepunk. Good deal on them just such a long drive from me.

Then like mulisha said, just go with what you feel is right for you and closest. Call up some of the shops and talk with them. make your decision that way
Please explain the term "backdoor calls". I'm sorry some of us aren't up to speed on "backdoor" related lingo......
Lmao:)

I personally have a Firepunk built everything (trans, twins etc...) and could not of asked for a better group of guys to work with. I have no experience with the other brands so I can't say if they are good/bad.

Good luck with your truck!!

This is just comical. I'll come out and say it, jim was the biggest garmon cheerleader ever, what changed? He had no problem going on and on about how great garmon is y not spill the beans on what's not so great all of a sudden?
Jim hasn't said anything negative about Jeff. He had a problem and decided to try something else. That's it... Time will tell if it's any better or worse. No band wagon jumping here just trying something new....
