Just wondering if any of you are pulling with a lock up switch and how you are doing it? I think that I will take off in 1st, shift to 2nd and then lock up the converter, then shift to 3rd. Any thoughts on this of tips that you guys use when pulling would be great!

Thanks very much!

I would not recommend you, or anybody using a T/C lock while pulling. It will just make things worse.

why not? I hooked 25+ times last year with a lock-up switch and still daily drive it. I pull in the unlimited class and finish in the top half of the class. so what am I doing wrong? Rob

I would recommend it. I pull last year and the first pull I left it in 2nd, 4low, with 4.10s and 33" tires... I was pretty much bouncing off the rev limiter the whole time. The second pull I left it in drive with the O/D off. Once it hit lock up in 3rd it bogged out, so for my truck I think 2nd and locked would be good.

my truck 3.73 and 35" mud tires. I leave the line in 2nd 4 low hit the lockup switch and then manually shift into drive. leave it there until the end of the track and I unlock the converter until I let off. Rob

when i was at ts and talk with the guy that owns the fass sponsered truck his automatically locks up at 1mph but most i hear lock up around 8mph he uses a bd unit but you can just hit the button as well i think what you stated in the op would work very well but i ave never pulled with a auto just a manual
