I'm looking at placing one of these on my 30ft GN so it gives me another 8ft of space to strap things down (lighter things) I'm limited on actual trailer length based on where i live so a new longer trailer is out.

PJ wants $600 for a 8x8 deck with lighting and stakes w/rub rails. Has anyone added one of these to your GN . It weighs 450 lbs so obviously i would need to keep an eye on my pin weight but i think having nother 8ft would be great

Anyone ever put one of these on after the fact

I dont think $600 is a horrible price. I dont own a deck on mine but I've used them in the past, they come in handy but they can act as a sail and cause more drag.

good point about the drag, i'm trying to decide if i need the other 8 ft, i think the option would be nice too though
Maybe have them build it so it attaches with lynch pins, then you could remove it with an aframe or a tractor when you dont need it.

Sounds like a pain in the butt toi do, I wouldnt go through the trouble.

Several farmers around here use them. One hauls alot of hay I've seen him put 4 round bales on the deck. The other one mounted a welder and a air compressor with reels for the leads an air hose on the deck then puts a portable fuel tank on the trailer and bags of seed behind that. Really depends on what your going to be hauling.

Neck Deck

I have looked at putting this deck on my tilt trailer and after pricing it PJ isn't far off on price. According to my local dealer it comes in powder coated ready for you to put on. I plan to bolt it on if I decide for one this spring. I want it for more flat non tilting surface to put random things on.

If you get one and have time I'm curious on proximity to your cab etc.

Just curious...If you're close enough to have PJ install this then why is a new trailer out of the question, besides the price of one? I live in upstate NY and finding a 40ft GN is about impossible, I brought mine back from Oklahoma City.

i wouldn't have them install this, i would do it. The length limitation is property based on where i live and part the trailer. I have some tight turns to park it where i live and i'm just about max'd on that without damaging, sprinklers etc.

that and i only have $3000 total in this trailer, long story

I have one on my trailer. It's awesome. I think it makes the trailer ride a little better when empty, and it's just another deck for more stuff. I have really never noticed it acting like a sail going down the road either. I suppose if you were worried about it you could deck it with expanded metal instead of wood, let air pass right through it

I've got one as well. I like that it utilizes otherwise empty space. The biggest thing I notice is it becomes a little more awkward hooking and unhooking the trailer because you're limited in your head room climbing in and out of the bed of the truck. It does make for a really great place to set up some chairs and watch above the crowd at different events! Mine is 4x8 and is solid wood decking. I don't really feel like I notice a wash to the trailer handling unless I have something EXTRA tall or heavy up there.
