so heres a new one on me, a freind has a 04, date of mafr 2-04.
hes having an issue with the lift pump in the tank and he called the stealership, they looked up the vin and said that from the factory it had a inline pump MOUNTED ON THE FRAME :confused013: right in front of the fuel tank is 2 ears and they are saying it was mounted there. can anyone back this up? i read this forum everynight and this is the first ive heard of this

nope either in the tank or behind the fuel filter

Sounds like the parts guy is confused with the aux HD fuel filter. Fuel line in and line out with wires for the water in fuel sensor/fuel heater. The only inline pump that's popular with the Cummins crowd is the Raptor.
