Hi guys, I'm curious to know if anyone has a mild timing box such as an Edge EZ and mild injectors under 100hp and what dyno numbers they're pulling. Basically everything for a great setup minus a fueling box.

Also, with that, for those that DO have that setup, do you have a boost elbow and if so, what difference in power and EGTs did it make?

Unloaded, EGTS will not exceed 1250-1275. Loaded, you would have to keep your foot in it for WAAAYYY too long to get it in the danger zone. You wouldn't tow that fast.

This is all practically at sea level on flat ground.

Thanks jmd! Are you running the HY or HX35? Also, did you notice an improvement with the boost elbow? One of my concerns is a clean burn; how's the smoke? I don't think I would go more that 100hp sticks.

If you are gonna run injectors, you may as well plan on using a boost elbow. Pretty much gotta have the extra air. But it gets hot quick when you exceed 35 psi.
The smoke is really not bad, unless you lug it.

This was a pull in 5th gear, starting at 1100rpms. Big puff of smoke, but then its cleared up. If I had started at say 1600-1700 rpms, there would have just been a little puff.

Thanks, I already have the boost elbow in; just wating for injectors to acutally make use of it.

So When I go to adjust the boost elbow for optimum boost, do you just adjust it to, say, 30 lbs then watch the EGTs and keep adjusting the screw in until your EGTs start to climb and then back it out a little until you're around 32-35psi and your EGTs aren't increasing any faster?

you can use an air compressor and gauge to set the psi that the wastegate opens at. Just set it to open at 35psi and leave it there.

Oh cool.. Good idea. So just unscrew the boost elbow, attach hose and blow into boost elbow toward wastegate?

yea, you can just un hook the hose to the wastegate and put air to it toward the actuator. When the rod moves, the wastegate is opening

I had roughly the same set up. EZ + boost elbow, and 100HP jammers, really liked it. I changed to the juice for the gauges.

A friend of mine has an 01 with an EZ and I think DDP 90s, everything else is stock and he tows a 13.5-14K trailer and says it tows great. Here is his chart:

nope never dynoed that set up, or my current one either. with the EZ, boost elbow, and 100hp jammers, I was hauling my 13,000lb toy hauler up some pretty crazy grades out to the desert and back. never had problems powerwise, passed people on the hills left and right. 6% grade 10miles long 60mph no problem. I do have 4:10s though.

EZ and rv275's with an HY35 and 30psi of boost laid down 260hp on my truck. I miss that combo. It should have been 300hp but for some reason my truck always dynos low. Every other truck with an ez/275 combo dynos around 300hp/600tq.

My first setup was an ez and 40hp injectors. 325/774

Next was mad ecm (smarty) and the same injectors. 311/781

Stock hx 35 turbo.

The smarty and injectors were an AWESOME towing combination. Could tow heavy all day long and not worry about the pyro. Could pass people at will in 5th gear with a 24ft gooseneck and 9k skidsteer en tow.

The smarty really woke the truck up past 2300 rpm compared to the ez which fell on it's face at that spot.

Smarty/275 combo is a sexy combo. I love all the power that I have but that combo was just to much fun to drive. Either a lot or a little smoke, no egt worries, got awesome mileage (20-21mpg hand calculated), smooth as silk.
