I got my CB mount from Gino's Garage. No holes to drill. The CB Mount mounts using the two front bolts for the center seat. I just loosen the two nuts slide the CB mount in place and tighten the two nuts. It was that simple. You do have to drill the CB mount to mount your CB Bracket onto it. I have a full size Galaxy CB & a Ext. Speaker mounted on the CB Mount. I'm happy with it.
I routed the cb coax back under the center console seat and throught the floor under the rear driver side seat. There is a metal knock out under the carpet which you can get to from under the truck. I took the knock out made a small slice in the carpet. Once I had the cb coax run I sealed the hole from under the truck with silicone....

Man I want one ... I just dont know squat about them!!

I was looking at the Cobra 29 Night Watch.

Im not a fan of huge big antenna's though. If I do one, I would run one of those ones that look almost like the radio antenna beside the hood, just on the other side ... Anyone picking up what I'm putting down? :lol3:

Man thats a good CB to be putn' a cheap antenna like that on. You can get a short firestick or something....And be sure to set your SWR's...You can burn your unit up if you don't aor you won't get out far at all....

My friend and I were just talking about this yesterday. We are both wanting to put our CB's back in, just haven't found a good spot for them yet with both trucks being standards (3rd gen's). I'm thinking about the same thing Bullydogcummins did or maybe mounting it on the console on the driver's side instead of the passengers.

I'll be running a Cobra 29LTD Classic. Maybe after getting it hooked up, I can pull in a CB shop somewhere and get it tweaked up a little.

Hey J, If you do end up getn' one and you want to get it tuned up....I have you hooked up(if you dont already have someone in mind) There is a guy in Deweyville that is jam up, hes an old *******, but hes good. And there is another guy in Westlake that does CB work too. He is very good, but he only does it when he aint on the road(truck driver), and he a lil bit more expensive than the guy in Deweyville.

Good deal. I was going to hook it all up and bring it by EJ Citizen Band in Lake Chuck to let them tune it right for me. I've tuned it in the past, but I would like to get it right this time. I would definitely like to talk to one of your guys about tweaking. We'll talk more on the 12th. I'll have it in by then. :beer

Mines mounted vertical on the drivers side of the console. My leg kinda touches it while driving, but it's not bad there. Easy to reach, and adjust if needed. I was gona mount it on the pass. side, but it's to far to reach. There isn't many spots to put it in a 3rd gen with a manual tranny!

I need to snap some pictures of my buddies truck. He has a cb. In his last 2 trucks( both 3rd gen dodges), he cut the overhead in half, mounted the cb against the front half, and then put the display part right at the front of his cb. I know sounds weird, but looks pretty cool. First time he told me I was like gosh that is going to look real crappy, but no. I will try tomorrow to get some pics. Oh and he is also, running a set of stacks with a tool box and tool box all the way up to the cab. He notched out his toolbox to make the stack work. I had never heard of that, but he can make anything fit and look good.
