Have a 2011 Megacab laramie with black leather and front center console storage.

I prefer having a jumpseat up front and wondering if swap is relatively easily done.
I assume jumpseat assembly comes with a seatbelt, what about ducting for hvac? Any other issues with the swap?

Dang it! I just typed up everything you needed and somehow I was logged out when I replied and it didn't save...

What you need:

Center seat, if you buy it from a auto recycling center, it may not come with the seat belts)
Duct that runs between the seat and dash
junk tray that sits directly in front of the center seat
radio bezel (unless you have the 120v power outlet and the donor truck doesn't - they are not interchangeable)
fold down cup holder
left/right bezels with outlets that go on both sides of the cup holder
lower bezel - covers the bottom of the cup holder - if the donor vehicle doesn't have rear vents, then the bezel will be slightly larger, it will still work, but you have to cut it to size by following the line on the back of it.
seat bolts

2010-2012 truck, including the 1500, are all interchangeable

When I did my swap, some parts I had to buy new: seat belts, radio bezel (you have to get one that has the 120v outlet since the holder for the outlet is permanently attached), duct and junk tray. Other parts came out of a 2011 (cup holder and surrounding pieces) and 2012 (seat).

I took pictures of my swap, I'll try to get an install thread up today or tomorrow.

Here is another thing to keep in mind - unless you swap with someone local - shipping the center console is expensive. I sold my console and all supporting pieces to a guy in Texas and it cost around $170 to ship via Fedex.

Wow, awesome write up!

Did you do the work yourself or have someone else do it? How long does something like that take to do once you have all the parts lined up?

Does the middle seat have a lap belt or a shoulder belt? Any pics of your seat now?

Hi I just did a swap the other way, from jump seat to console with floor shifter it took about 3 hours but I had to install the shifter cable and brackets also the col shoud that you don't have to change. So you should be able to switch in about 2 hours. To bad my stuff is Tan in colour. If you find someone to trade you should both have all the parts needed for the swap.

Thank you!

Yes I did the work myself. Once you have all the parts lined up you can knock it all out in a few hours working without stopping for pictures.

Here are a few pics:

Clarification on the radio bezel:

I couldn't find a used one with the 120v outlet, so I had to order it new online. The bezel with console is not interchangeable with the bezel with center seat.

It is a lap belt only setup. No options for a shoulder belt.

The only trouble I had installing the seat belt was trying to figure out where the latch side bolted down at (left rear seat mount). Other than that no issues. The belt side attaches to a bolt on the right side.

I took my center console out, how does the air duct connect to the jumpseat? Is it under the rug? And if so then that means I need the jump seat and the ductwork and the rug and the radio bezel and cup holder right?

The duct work goes under the rug, you need the jump seat and seat belts also the brackets that bolt it to the bottom of seats and ducting. I think the rug is the same you just pull it up and slide the duct under it. The radio trim is about one inch shorter when using a jump seat you also need the drink tray and the trim that goes around it and the tray that sits on the floor. I switched my truck from a jump seat to a console with shifter.

My rug that is there now is cut up, there is a rectangular box with wires coming out of it. It looks like there should be a rug that just covers the whole hump, ductwork and all.

Hi dodge may have cut the rug different when they installed a center console compared to a jump seat. If the hole that's in your rug is only between the seats and about 4 to 5 inches in front you should be fine, if its cut father forward it maybe a problem. Do you have a picture?

Your good to go, that's about the way mine was. The jump seat and the tray that goes on the floor in front of the jump seat will cover the hole, you will need to unbolt the seats to install the brackets for the jump seat and pull abit on the rug to install the duct

Thanks that helps me sleep tonight. Just have to find a seat donor now.
