The ticking noise?

Is this why you are trying to get it lemon'd?

Do a search for ticking on here. I have the noise, but it is worse than that. Replacing the drive shaft supposedly fixed other peoples noises.

Yes. It's 10 times that loud now. May be minor issue to some but I didn't pay $52000 for something to be making a loud popping noise when I drive it.

The driveshaft has been replaced 4 times. Comes back between 300-400 miles.
I can't imagine it getting lemoned over that but I certainly wouldn't live with a loud noise like that either.
Can you move the go pro and pin point the noise? As in where along the shaft is it coming from?

It already is considered a Lemon under SC law.

That's the thing, we can't pin point it. I've moved the camera all over and there is no specific spot where it sounds louder. It "sounds" as if it's coming from inside the shaft, but no specific spot. And as soon as we put a different shaft in the noise is gone.

Drop a 1 piece shaft in it.

On a side note I have heard that same noise before on mine but its never been that extreme.

That's my plan if the Engineer doesn't have any suggestions tomorrow.

I honestly wouldn't be worried if it wasn't that noticeable but driving down the road it's awful and I can hear it with the windows up so I want it fixed.
I had the front CV go in my truck last winter. It was making some pretty strange clicking before we figured it out. Made noise in 2wd as well as 4wd so it was overlooked at first.
I had 35" tires on 18's which helped mine to go.

I don't have much to add but I must admit I am curious what is going on.
I'd say it was a bearing if there were some rpms on it but toward the end of the video you were barely moving and the pitch was still the same. Could it be something electrical my friend had an issue that was electrical on a new z71 and it got bought back on lemon law and he made bank 7G's+ don't know how. Good luck to ya noises can be a pain!
At each driveshaft replacement are they replacing just the driveshaft section itself? Have they replaced the slip yoke portion? Both u-joints?

Have you unbolted the driveshaft and pulled the slip yoke out & looked at the splines on the yoke and shaft stub coming out of transfer case? And while the driveshaft is unbolted wiggle around on the pinion yoke, any play here?

Seems the ticking is mostly happening when the driveshaft/yoke are sliding closer to the transfer case than when sliding away from it…

Is the noise more noticeable under acceleration than deceleration?

I'd go insane over that noise myself.
Mine has been doing the same thing. Seem it is when you load and unload the drivetrain on mine.
Sounds like aluminum stressing. Does this noise only happen on the aluminum drive shafts?
Sounds to me like its not the drive shaft. Sounds like its rear springs or shocks to me only when getting loaded at a certain angle. Perhaps a cracked leaf or something stuck in the leaf. Driveline noises are usually changed with rpm etc.
Have the same noise now on 2012. Any updates as to the cause of the noises and or fixes?? Much appreciated.
Finally convinced Ram to replace my driveshaft and the noise went away. I've heard other guys have had their shaft replaced and it took care of the noise only for a couple thousand miles. We'll see what happens. My dealer said there was nothing obviously wrong with my old shaft when they checked it out. The splines and u-joints all looked good.

After 900 miles the noise is back. My dealer is in contact with Ram to try and figure out what is going on. Hope to get an answer soon.

Have any of you guy jacked up the back end and have someone under there while you go through a couple gears, at least you could rule out some things since none of the suspension and slip yokes are moving, don't get crazy it's not that great on the drivetrain to free spin it fast, but you may be able to find it that way, wish someone with the problem was close to me, I'd take a crack at finding it, I've gotten kinda good at finding these kind of wierd noises, they drive me nuts.
