Seems like I hear a lot of people have autos and say they would prefer a manual. Just a poll I thought I'd post.

I know the stick is a better trans (or so they say), but for me auto is the way to go. I've got a construction business, so I'm constantly on the road as well as the phone. No way I could do the manual...
Besides, my right hand is for petting the mutt when I'm not yakkin on the phone...:lol3:

Well, after a year of searchin for the Cummins of my dreams, I finally didnt care what tranny it had. I found an 01 with 37,225 miles, and it was pretty clean. I bought her. Shes mine. Nuff said.

Got my auto because of an awesome deal and because the misses has horses that she trailers and she's not so hot with manuals.

i bought a manual because i hate driving auto's, but its also a bonus because the women never wants to drive it because its manual. double bonus

the autos not bad. i am just stashing money away for a coaltrain built trans, then its just kick back and hammer down and let the smoke fly, without and movement besides the foot to the floor

i had to drive 150 miles to find a 6 speed manny in tx that also came with a long box and 4 doors. never even looked at auto's.

my lovely wife says its too stiff and jerky for her to drive, so im in the double bonus category as well .

This is the whole reason I dumped my last truck and bought a Cummins. I got tired of trying to teach my woman how to drive a stick. She almost tore my truck apart more than a few times, after two years of lessons and NO luck or improvement whatsoever, I gave up and sold it, I couldn't watch her destroy it anymore. So i'm stuck with my auto, but I might try a stick next time and just not put her in a position where she needs to drive it?!?

Nothing sucks worse than driving 400-600- miles a day shifting gears, coming home and having to shift some more! Plus its always cool to be able to burn the tires through the gears with out having to shift them!
