I do but i missed it as well dang job:doh:
I went this morning and did well. I have a pond on my property that nobody hunts but me. No decoys, no calls...they fly right in and if you miss they circle and try again. If I were a better shot I could limit in 10 minutes!
Was suposed to go out on the Trinity north of Huntsville... But work called. Guys I was going with did well though!
I've been wanting to hunt ducks for years, and this is my first year to try it out. As soon as I get tired of seeing no deer, I'm duck hunting...

Ain't that the truth! I have a love/hate relationship with deer hunting.

LOL... that's one way to do it!! Nice and easy not much effort required, I like the sound of that.

That's almost worse than not going.

Funny I got my start the same way. I actually see more deer when I'm duck hunting than deer hunting. Maybe I'm doing something wrong!?!?

Man we need some rain up north... my hunting lakes are looking very sad. Guess I'll join the masses around the metro-mess and try some lakes close by. Not sure I can miss another weekend.

Went this weekend in Port O'Connor, pretty slow.

I'm sitting in the stand this morning, and nothing is happening. Of course at least a dozen Wood ducks fly over and land in the pond several hundred yards away. So I'm thinking the cows have messed up my deer hunt, so I went to check out the ducks. (just look at them - I didn't have my shotgun) What do ya know... There goes a doe. :hehe:

I'm going after the duck in the morning, but carrying my rifle, because I know there will be deer everywhere. :rof

Genius idea... I carry my 44 when duck hunting. I keep waiting for a hog or deer to come in too close!! Almost had to pull it on a sow 2 years ago. Her and some babies came awfully close while getting a drink one morning.
Work has been doing a pretty good job at keeping me out of the blinds!! I don't like the alternative, but D$MN I miss hunting.

Yep it happened... No ducks, but I saw 2 bucks chasing a doe. One buck was VERY nice, but I never had a shot - too much brush.
My duck hunting spot is almost dry here on lake fork so resorting to hunting a 22 acre private lake until the water level rises
Who all hunts around Huntsville/deep east? Trinity river or the lakes?
