help, i need to change my water pump, and i went to drain the old antifreeze out of the truck through the little drain valve on the bottom of the radiator, and when i turned it nothing came out. i know theres a bunch of antifreeze in there. could there be a blockage or something gummed up somewhere? need to fix asap

Easiest to remove lower radiator hose.

i did that but i only got about 3 gallons or so to drain out.

That's probably all your gonna get just removing the radiator hose, stick a peice of wire up in the drain valve with it open and stand back it will come out

The only way you get all the coolant from engine is remove the water pump.
