some independent mechanics carry the stuff - I know mine does - I can pm you the shop name and address if you need. You can make yourself a dealer too at the distribution centre in northwest Edmonton, if its worth it... I think you have to be a farmer or something though? Have some kind of business? Calgary2500 did this if I recall correctly.

think a computer software business could pass as a amsoil dealer :hehe:

awesome, they carry all types? I am specifically looking for diff oil ( still get free oil changes at the dealership)
LOL!! There must be some way to make it work - like you need your vehicle to do service calls or something???
I think you sign up to be a perfered customer for a some type of fee, then they deliver the oil to your house.
You don't need to be a dealer, farmer, business owner, any joe can do it just sign up as a preferred customer on the amsoil website, costs 30$ a year. Gets shipped right to your door way cheaper than retail.
Sign up for a preferred customer account, you get way better prices. And deal directly with the warehouse.
with this preffered customer thing, do they deliver to your dooer anywhere in alberta or do you have to live in edmonton?

You can pay to get it shipped. But for people in Edmonton, you can pick it up directly from the warehouse. Even with shipping it would be a LOT cheaper then any other place.
I got the farmer account, if you pick the oil up yourself, they even take some off the bill for some reason.
So what makes this stuff so good anyways, is it really worth the money.

How often do you change it, I do every five K pretty religiously with Shell Rotella from minit lube. I would take enough for another oil change, think its 14 liters or something like that. As well as their fuel addititive, try it out, generally use an additive to help clean the system out ever 15K kilometers. LMK on the pricing and I'll probably pick it up from you whenever your back in town, just had the oil changed pretty recently so don't matter if it won't be for a while.

It's 11.4L or 12 quarts. Amsoil seems to be pretty good stuff, it helps starting in the winter for sure. The price isn't that bad considering you can go longer on a change. I go about 9,000km, might go longer once I get an analysis to confirm I can go longer. However just a note, do NOT use their fuel filter, it's not up to specs. I think everything else is fine though.

Which fuel filter? They list 4 for my '01... 2 WIX & 2 Donaldson. They don't have their own branded filter for my application. Oddly enough, the Donaldson high efficiency filter was cheaper than the standard filter. :confused013:

Not exactly sure on 2nd gens, but they do not make a filter for the 3rd gen that meet specs.

I'm a courior and I run the Marine 15w40 with the Amsoil filter, I do oil analyis, Since jan I have over 600hrs of run time and approx 25,000kms on the same oil, I usually change it at 30,000kms even though the oil reports come back saying resample at next maint interval (means oils good leave it alone) in that 30,000km span I end up adding a couple of liters.
I think its safe to say you can double your interval that your doing now, then resample the oil BEFORE you change it. Mine runs 8-10hrs a day city stop and go, if you drive your truck half way normal you could likely surpass the interval I'm on.
