I put one in my 07 along with a electric fan kit and it was a substantial difference in acceleration. Just felt like a lighter truck. I used the 08+ model aluminum drive shaft.

I thought mu 2012 truck would have a aluminum shaft but it dosent. I cant believe it and Im disappointed. I cant move over the shaft from my 07 because of the cab being longer the shaft will be too short. I could take it to a shop and get them to extend it and balance it but thats more money.

Is there a new shaft solution? What are people doing?

Mine came stock with a steel one. I'm leaving it. Much more durable. I just had to fully paint it, has zilch for paint protection.

Maybe more durable but if an aluminum shaft didn't brake towing heavy and racing my 600+ HP 2007 truck then they are strong enough. As stated above, the aluminum shaft and electric fan on my 2007 made a very noticeable difference and Im looking to do the same for my 2012

My 12 Crew Cab Short bed has an aluminum shaft. Wonder if it has to do with Long and short beds? I will ask my Buddy at the Dealer and see.

there are several 1 piece shafts available, not sure the difference between them.:confused013:

my '11 mega has a 2 piece steel, i looked at an '11 mega identical to mine, but with hemi... it had 1 piece alum.

my VIN actually shows 2 shafts available for it, the 2 piece and the alum 1 piece. the 1 piece part number is different than the 1 piece part number from the hemi truck vin I gave to the parts guy.

The 1 piece for my truck is listed at $500 something. I will be getting it when I do my other suspension stuff

i just confirmed the part number and availability for mine.

the g**damn price went up over $300:bang head:

the list price was $517, now it is $854:shock:

I should have bought it when I first looked at them:buttock: don't know if ill do it now.

the vender mentioned above has them for cheaper, and can make custom ones for cheaper
