Alternative Intercooler

1090 Views 9 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  DRT086.7
Like many people on here, I had the wafer thin intercooler. But, I didn't want to spend $1,200+ for an aftermarket one. I couldn't find anyone with an all metal stocker to buy - and didn't want the plastic ones some of the 5.9's had.

So I got this one. The difference between it and the thin intercooler is night and day. Definite performance improvement, and its built exceptionally sturdy.

So I wanted to post the link in case anyone wants an alternative.

So if you already have the larger stocker, is this still an upgrade?

They have a performance and regular version . . . so i don't know. When I called them, they said they build them sturdier than stock, but to OEM specs. So my guess is, it's just like the thicker 07.5 intercooler, just built a bit better.

It said the inlet and outlet is 3.0. Stock is 2.5 isn't it? will the tubes fit?
The passenger side tube tapers, it is 2.75 leaving the turbo and 3" at the intercooler
