Air Damm

1371 12
I have a question. On the 2005 2500 is there suppose to be an air damm below the front bumper? I see mounting hardware, but no air damm. If there is suppose to be one, I'll order one ASAP before the warm weather gets here. Thanks in advance,

Anthony

I would get one, I don't think I have seen one that came factory without one. I have been told they help with the induction of air through the bumper into the intercooler... not sure the truth behind that though...

OK, thank you very much. The damm is there for a reason! To do exactly what you said.

I drove south through the San Joachin Valley in Sept. Outside temp was 105*. With my camper on the truck coolant temp never exceeded 190*. I climbed the Grapevine,a steep section of I-5 north of LA and same deal. No problem. I didn't have one on my '98.5 either.

I have been wanting to replace mine too. I just think the front ends looks funny without them. I have talked to a few people about used ones, but cant bring myself to spend what they want for it, especially since it will probably just get ripped off again.

I just had to replace mine after having too much fun in our two feet of snow a couple weeks ago. I got an awesome deal on e-bay ($63 shipped). If anyone wants info PM me. I know a guy in New Jersey selling the OEM one off his truck too.
I think it looks better on there. It kind of hides the rusty front end components......

Yeah the front end stuff is what I think looks out of place without it. I dont like being able to see all the way under there.

07Bighorn, the avatar pic was after I had tore it off. This is the mud hole I lost it in.

It got a little deep about 5 seconds after the picture was taken.

I lost mine to a Ford escort station wagon. He lost his car, I lost my air dam. Oh well, guess I can live with that lol!
