I would get one, I don't think I have seen one that came factory without one. I have been told they help with the induction of air through the bumper into the intercooler... not sure the truth behind that though...

I drove south through the San Joachin Valley in Sept. Outside temp was 105*. With my camper on the truck coolant temp never exceeded 190*. I climbed the Grapevine,a steep section of I-5 north of LA and same deal. No problem. I didn't have one on my '98.5 either.

I have been wanting to replace mine too. I just think the front ends looks funny without them. I have talked to a few people about used ones, but cant bring myself to spend what they want for it, especially since it will probably just get ripped off again.

I removed mine 5 years ago after almost ripping it off. I saw no difference in fuel economy and engine temp with the air dam removed.

i had mine off of my slt bumper for over a year with no problems. i currently dont have one on my sport bumper.

I just had to replace mine after having too much fun in our two feet of snow a couple weeks ago. I got an awesome deal on e-bay ($63 shipped). If anyone wants info PM me. I know a guy in New Jersey selling the OEM one off his truck too.
I think it looks better on there. It kind of hides the rusty front end components......

Yeah the front end stuff is what I think looks out of place without it. I dont like being able to see all the way under there.

I lost mine to a Ford escort station wagon. He lost his car, I lost my air dam. Oh well, guess I can live with that lol!
