Weird, I have a napa 200* in my truck and have for months and it's been fine. Was the same size as the 190* stant I pulled out.

Don’t know how well it shows up in the picture. But that’s a old stant vs napa stainless steel thermostat. The regular looked exactly the same but wasn’t a shiny. I had to center it in the thermostat mount on the head, where as the stant and cumming just slipped right in and fit nice and tight . I had high hopes for that napa thermostat. I noticed the opening on the top was bigger thought will it should flow better once it opens . But after having two go bad in a short amount of time ... I just switched to a cumming . Time will tell how the Cummings Thermostat holds up.

Both are from napa. The one on the left is the stant and the right is the one that replaced the stant. When I looked at the napa web site that newer smaller design is all they showed . They Are both rated for 190. But the new version had 192 stamped on it . And yeah I noticed the area where the coolant flows was bigger on the new one . I had hopped it was going to be a upgrade from the oem design, but after going through 2 in just a few short months.... yeah I went to cumming .

I am on the list for an AFE radiator. I was thinking of converting the coolant to Evans when I do the install. I think it has a higher boiling point and lower surface tension vs water/antifreeze. I wonder if anyone has tried this product in their truck.

I’ve heard about the Evans coolant . Sounded good on paper, but I’ve also heard a lot of people complain that it cause there cars to over heat. Don’t quote me on this , but I think even J Leno had problems with his cars over heating with the Evans coolant .
