Has anyone added this center 22 gallon fuel tank to their older CC? I know that they started offering this option (both tanks) in 2013, however, when I ordered my 2012 it was not available. I would like to add it now if I can. If I can't I am going to have a custom one made. I am also thinking of converting the DEF tank to a fuel tank after I delete the DEF later. Has anyone tried that ?I am thinking of using a 12 volt solenoid controlled 2 or 3 way fuel control valve for the pick up and return lines. All comments and suggestions are welcomed.:confused013:

https://www.transferflow.com/shop/product/0800113890?p=1&c=10&s=p- ...I added a FASS system so I took the fuel module out of the 52gal and installed it in the 40gal midship, using the oem module/pump as the transfer. 92 gal under the frame! BTW...the dealership still looks confused when I ask about the "option", supposably starting in 2013.

That sounds awesome!!! 92 gallons under frame seems like a pipe dream to me. What is a FASS system and where did you get the 40 gallon tank as I thought you could only fit the Dodge 22 gallon under there. I definitely want to do this as I am only getting 6.5 MPG when I tow heavy.

Hey Port Dodger,
It seems that that 40 gallon tank is now obsolete, however, it has been replaced with a 50 gallon tank. They said that this is a "replacement tank ONLY". When I questioned them as to why they said because they are using all of the OEM parts from the 52 gallon tank and they don't have the parts available to be able to use both tanks and that this is strictly an either or situation. The good news is that it will fit physically without interfering with the existing 52 gallon tank. I am thinking that you could purchase all of the related OEM parts (sender, wiring harness etc.) and then have a manual switch that would activate a 12 volt relay that would transfer the sender signals to the existing fuel gauge and also activate a 12 volt solenoid control valve that would shift the fuel pickup and return lines to the tank you were running on. Their may be a simpler way to do this so if anyone wants to chime in they would be welcome. This is going to be pricey as the 50 gallon tank from FSI is $1,366 plus freight and the related OEM parts that it would take to make it all work. On the plus side it would be awesome to have 102 gallons in the frame!

You could run a small transfer pump from the new 50 gallon tank to the existing 52 and have it come on when the level get's low. I know some of the in bed setups start filling when your stock tank gets to like 1/2 tank and shuts off when it gets up to 3/4 or so.

Thanks for that good idea. It sounds a lot simpler. I could simply install a standard sender like a boat fuel tank uses into the new tank, put a fuel gauge in the dash and add a 12 volt transfer pump that 'T's into the fill pipe of the existing tank or return line. That would cost a lot less.
