Active Airbox Service Required

Anyone had the message "Active Airbox service required. See Dealer" message pop up in the EVIC? My truck just started doing this last week. First 14k miles were trouble free. The message pops up upon startup, it intermittently does this. No check engine light comes on. A couple times it will keep the message stored in the EVIC menu, and other times it disappears. Going to take it into the dealer on Friday. :banghead:

Possibly check your air filter if its wet that may cause a restriction

When I first saw the message last week, the first thing I did was change the air filter with a new one from Wix. Went away but now it's back.
Just open the air box cover pull the filter and check the operation of the valve which switches from front to bottom. sometimes they hang up, mine did and has been fine since I did the above
When I did the air filter change, I turned the key on and the active air doors were moving on their own. Hard telling if its a programming issue or a intermittent failure on the door motor. Been driving it today with no issues.
Update: Got it into the dealer and got the call back a little while ago. Apparently this is a known issue and Ram is saying not to replace the Airbox, the problem is being looked into by the engineers and to check back in a couple months to see if they have a solution posted.

Yes, had that message at start up one time and went away and haven't seen it since. How many miles on you truck?:cbadge:

Same here. My truck has been doing this since I drove it off the lot. The flap not opening is not doing any harm, just the air box is not working at its full potential by letting in air through the "snorkel tube" above 40 mph.
Same thing here. Truck has 5,000 miles now and message has come on twice. Always goes away the same day.
Dealer replaced my airbox back in August and its been fine ever since.

Started doing it just after it rolled over 13k miles. Has 14.5 on it now, no rhyme or reason to it giving me a message. Only has done it on startup.
Mine did this today, any update?
too much technology....!!!! can we not just get rid of this feature....miss my basic setup in my 12....that i substituted with s and b CAI.....afraid to touch the darm "active airbox" feature on my 13......hopefully a tuner or something will allow us to get rid of this and just do a standard CAI with no worries.

Nothing as of yet, ours hasn't done it yet and is almost at 19k miles.
I had the message flash today on start up. No letter icon or message saved. Just flashed on the screen. I am at a little over 6K on the clock.

Mine did it last week, with 7100 on the odo.
:banghead: Mine did this yesterday, 13,500 miles........
Mine did it a few times before I had 5,000 miles on the truck. It only did it while towing my fifth wheel. Once I turned the truck off then on again it went away. My dealer said they are aware of the problem but do not have a software fix for it yet. Does anyone else know what the fix is?
My new 2014 with 300 miles on it did this twice today, the warning went away on its own. Is there a fix for this or is everyone just living with it?
Mine just did this too. I put an S&B on and it popped up about 300 miles after and I thought it was the s&b doing it but sounds like it was going to do it anyways with the stock.
