ac not blowing correctly

i have a 2000 dodge 2500 4x4 with a cummins, the ac and heater all work great but the only blow through the defroster vents on the dash instead of the panel vents. my ex father inlaw had this problem with his and he took it to the dealer, they said it was a vacum line that controls where the air blows. does anyone have this problem or know how to fix i?:confused013:

sure bubba. there are vacuum lines in the engine bay. theres one that runs from right behind the intake horn to where the air filter sits. i had a problem where mine dropped down and and melted on top of the turbo. just check all the vac lines and you'll find your problem.
