I have been dealing with the abs light going on & off with alarm constantly for over a year now. The abs modulator needs to be replaced from what the dealership tells me. I don't understand why there's not a recall. Still waiting on the part to become available. I did send a letter to the NHTSB (national highway traffic safety board) asking why no recall. Their response was not enough people have complained. Well, evidently more have complained because today I received an email stating they are now looking into it being some trucks have had total brake failure because of a bad abs module and hydraulic pump. This affects 2017 & 2018 Ram 2500 & 3500 trucks. I'm told if you have had this fixed, keep all receipts so you can be reimbursed if a recall is put in place.

Recalls are only triggered when a threshold is reached. I don't know what that threshold is.

TSB is more likely. Did you ask the dealer if there was a TSB issued?

I didn't ask if there was a TSB, but I think the threshold has been hit because I got a letter saying the NHTSB is now looking into it after receiving 134 complaints and some trucks with total brake failure.
