ABS and BRAKE Light Illuminated

So I was driving earlier today and outta nowhere the ABS and BRAKE illuminated on the dash. The brake pedal feels fine and has plenty of fluid. I've done some reading and alot say it's the Rear speed sensor. My speedometer works and have no issues with it or braking. I drove it again later in the day and and all the lights went out after starting like normal except the BRAKE light. Parking brake was not on. Drove for about 5 minutes or so then the ABS light came on. So kinda stumped as to why they both came on at the same time before and then this time there was a delay. So my question is it the speed sensor or something else? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I had the ABS light come on twice once when i changed my front brakes and i think i built pressure back up or something and it turned off and once was the rear speed sensor ....$32 I think. As for the brake light my brothers has had his on for 70k miles and it won't go off
Typically its a speed sensor. If the speedometer works then the front axles sensors both need to be replaced. If the speedometer doesn't work then the rear axle sensor needs to be replaced.
Same problem here. Hooked mine up to the scanner at work, had a number of abs codes all related to the motor, IE abs motor stall. replaced motor/ hydraulic unit, lights still on. I'll be replacing the abs control unit next.
Ok thanks guys. But, today I get in and drive it a couple times and the only light that stays on now is the BRAKE light. The ABS light shuts off after you start it. Brakes feel normal and plenty of fluid. Did the key trick and no codes. So now I'm stumped.
Why would both front sensors need to be replaced? I haven't heard of many times when they both die at the same time. An ABS capable scantool will tell you which one is bad and you can test their resistance before you replace them to confirm.
Mine did the same things and the batteries were weak and the alternaor wasn't charging em so I changed it out and it went away

Just a best practice. You are correct, testing will show which one is at fault, but typically if one fails the other is not too far behind. I chalk it up to preference.
