Does anybody have the part numbers readily available for the timken bearings? I was reading that they changed to a better bearing on the pinion in 2011. I've rebuilt it once with a AAM kit and it didn't last long " The howl is back! "

Didn't last long? Define that.
The AAM OEM parts lasted 15 years in my truck (seals).

I replaced them with another AAM OEM kit. Going strong since.

You got a howl, it sounds like an installation error to me. There's a pretty specific tightening procedure for pinion preload, sounds like it was over torqued from the start.

Had a howl / whine before I started and it seemed to improve but never went away. At stock power I’d say it would last that long but I’m far from stock. I think that the gear set may be the cause. I was reading that a overloaded gear set will make some noise. Was going to replace the gear set, axel bearings and pinion if they look bad. I torqued the pinion correctly and was in the inlb range.
