Firs thing you need to do is read the stickies up at the top of this performance thread.
This one has a bunch of good links http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/9...ormance-guide-frequently-asked-questions.html
This one has some more specifics http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/9...straight-foward-answers-common-questions.html

#1 thing of all make sure you have a good lift pump (I suggest fass 150) and a fuel pressure gauge inside the cab.
Beyond that what are your goals? 3,4,500 horse or more? You need to set an attainable goal, then we can suggest the parts to help you reach that goal.

agreed. and second tfaoro. the FASS is a must for reliability of the fuel system.

the gauge will ensure that you can monitor fuel pressure to know if the lift pump is dieing.

also need to know what all is still dodge, and what isnt ie are you p-pumped or still rnning the vp. if still running the vp is everything working as it should? no check engine lights?

I agree with offroad and tfaoro on both accounts. then I would run a bhaf, or air box (I run an AFE stage 1 dry w/ booster tube) and a 4" tbe to let her breathe.

i would run bhaf over the other options.... they can have holes in the filter media, that isnt the best for the truck..... hold the filter to the light to see them....
I did, saw the holes and put a bhaf on it lol, but I left the booster tube and half box.

thanks guys, I am looking to get close to 500 horse, and the truck has all the dodge parts just international sheet metal, even has dodge dash parts and column.
I will research the information I have as of right now, what you guys are telling me is a little foreign, new to the diesel mod stuff, and really new to the cummins, so please dumb it down for me!
oh and it is a 4x4, with all original driveline

don't be afraid to ask. we all had to start somewhere. IMO (in my opinion) a fass fuel system, injectors, studs, a big honkin air filter (bhaf), turbo, some electronics, 4" turbo back exhaust, and a good clutch should get you pretty close to your 500hp mark.

A clean and cool 500 hp could be had with doing a small twin turbo setup while using the stock charger. An hx35 paired with an s472 could make 500 hp easily. Like the others have said with injectors and a good programmer you would be right there

as many will say. start with fuel pump, gauges, and trans upgrade, need be clutch or built auto. learned the hard way by going with all kinds of power and stock clutch, then truck sat for awhile waiting to get money to fix clutch that i should have done first...
