Trying to fix the only issue with this truck I'm buying this week. On our test drive my buddy showed me what happens. If you turn the A/C on within 5-to-6 minutes you a loud THUMP at the floor board and the A/C immediately goes to HOT! air.

I've talked to 4 different shops and the general idea's are either the blend door is broken in the A/C system, or the electric actuator is malfuctioning. Either way the whole dash has to come out to replace either.

Comments, suggestions, advice?

It is 1 of those 2. Pulling the dash is no fun.

Get a right angle screw driver pass side floorboard going towards center of firewall. There's two screws that hold the electric actuator motor in the ducting. Pull the actuator out and the black plastic connector the allows the motor to move the blend door. You have two replacement options. 1 is another plastic one from dodge that swaps right in. 2 is a metal replacement called the heater treater only thing is its a little agervating is you have to tighten a set screw on the side of the connector to the axle stub coming out the bottom of the blend door. I finally got tired of fighting mine an had a buddy do it.

Plastic replacement $12 dealer n drop in

Metal worry free replacement $30 shipped some aggrevation included. LoL
