What potential problems should I be aware of if I buy this truck? I can't beat the price of $5K. It is filthy dirty but otherwise looks good. It has 240K miles, no obvious damage and seems to run fine. Being the first year for the 24 V engines, am I asking for trouble?
I have had three first generation duallys and never had a complaint.
Many thanks for any advice..........

The only big problem on the 2nd gen 24V's is the injector pump. Be sure to check out the fuel pressure or you may be buying one. As long as fuel pressure stays in check, they dont really cause any trouble. But it's usually too low unless the lift pump is upgraded.

Well, the deal just got better! We traded even for a trailer I have been using for storage for the last 8 years. Now I have three Dodge duallys.

Thanks for your response. I will certainly check the injector pump pressure.

Pressure should be 10-20 psi. Less than 7 is really hard on the pump. Much over 20 will also damage it.
