I have a 98.5 24v Cummins with 140k on the clock. Its -8 here tonight in Iowa, and I was heading out to eat. As I am going down the road, it stalled out. There was no bogging, just out of the blue, locked steering wheel and died. Not but 5 minutes from home, started fine, idled and ran fine. That's when it died. I treat all my fuel with Power Service. I used to use howes, but the canister always leaked on me. After a good amount of cranking- 3 or 4 times of 10 sec it fired up, ran real rough then idled out just fine and made it home. Now I filled up 3 days ago and treated with power service. Ran all day today in sub zero no problems. It happened tonight, but am perplexed as going to work last Saturday at -20, it had absolutely no problems, not even slightly bogging down. So not sure what my problem is here. I don't have a FP gauge, so I'm leaning towards it being a lift pump. Looking back I should have primed the fuel pump, but I just want opinions on what the problem could be here. Sorry for the long post guys.
