97 12v dying at stop lights when letting out of clutch. It will stay running when I engage the clutch a little so rpms don't drop so fast. The truck is idling below 500 rpm. Just changed fuel filter ast week, and transfer pump replaced 2 yrs ago.

1st the idle should be 850 RPMs .
A part that is 2 yrs old / new or what ever , should never be assumed to be good , only testing tells , so fuel pressure , with what you have for mods , there are no gauges listed.

You may want to look at the idle stop screw on the pump. They tend to wear with time and your idle becomes slower and slower until it won't run. You can feel the wear point fairly easily. Your problem may be as easy to fix as a quarter turn of the idle screw.

If the truck is running ok except for the low speed dying just set the idle up. The lift pump is ok.
