Well it's been a long time since I have been on here. A little history on me, I used to live on this forum in my teenage years as my first pick up was an 89 w250 that I spent a great deal off time on and learned a lot from here about. Fast forward a few year down the road and I've made it back. I have a lot more experience and knowledge now and would like to thank everyone who has helped me on the way. Since I been here last I ended up going down the powerstroke road and have a 03 f250 that I had messed with and loved the power i was able to get it of the 6.0l. Buuuuuuut, learned quickly that I didn't much care for the way it towed after all the mods I performed. So needless to say I swapped a 12v in it and cured my itch for great towing while have a fun truck to drive. But I have reached the point now that I just can't have a fun enough truck to drive everyday and also perform my towing duties. So I have purchased a 93 extended cab 4x4 truck to mod and make my play toy.

Now unfortunately I have not done my due diligence of keeping good photographic evedents of what I have already done for the truck. That will change now. This will be a slow build up and am hoping to complete everything for the running gear and drive train of the truck over the winter (pending work load at my real job).

Things I already have for the truck. I have a 48re that I built using a combination of people's help that I will get to later to thank. The trans consist of a fire punk rebuild kit, 2000stall DPC converter, billet input and output shafts, full manual 47re valve body from Powerdriven Diesel, deep pan, and all the billet goodies for the band's also from Fire Punk.

As for the engine, I'm still in the process of gathering all the parts and pieces I need but am well on the way. As of right now I have a short block together that I will be taking back apart and using for this truck. The block is a factory non intercooled block from a 89 dodge. The rotating assembly is a combination of a few engines I have acquired over the years. I have a 180hp p pump with 4k gov springs, and a rack plug. Other goodies for he engine I have right now are arp rod bolts, arp headstuds, and today I ordered a Hamilton 188 220 cam, 24v push rods, and Powerdriven Diesel stage 1 push rods. I have a cylinder head that I ported using guides from reading many hours of info from Google searches, so we will see how well or poorely my skills are at porting. I did a fairly mild job compared to what I seen for fear of water jackets and ruining a head but should be better than it was. As of right now I do not have turbos completely decided on so I will update on that and suggestions are welcomed.

The plan for the truck is to try and crack the 1000hp mark one day. As much as I would like to base my life on diesel performance unfortunately I can't make that happen right now. I'll be spending money where it makes sence and unfortunately bling will have to suffer.

I think that's enough said for now. I would like to thank the people who have helped me so far even though I really don't offer much benefit to them as far as money return. Will Terry at Powerdriven has given me so much knowledge and pointers on everything from the transmission to the fueling on my truck. MATT at Diesel Auto Power has helped me a good bit on parts pricing for parts on this truck and my Ford. Firepunk also were great to deal with as well. My friend Terry Hansen has helped me a ton with parts a misc pieces for 12v engine in general so thanks to him. The majority of the people I have dealt with in the diesel industry have been so great to deal with and make you feel like part of the community even though I'm just some other punk with high ambitions with little money.

Now let let the fun begin, I have to figure out how to upload photos to hear and get them on. I hope to get some great feedback and criticizem when needed.

Cheers,
Willis

I will look into that for the pictures.

As for today I was able to get the head together with all new valve seals and 60lbs springs. The rotating assembly is all together. I got the head set on and tourqued down to check the piston to valve clearance. I need to run an overhead the I'll check it. Probably won't get to it till mid next week. Just an update. I'm looking for advice on turbos. I think is want to run a 488 for he primary but not sure if I'll go with a 66/71/14 or 64/71/14. Never ran either turbo so opinions will help.

Your correction factor is off..... Or you need some corrective lenses. Last time I checked, 600 HP is a long way from "close to" 1,000 HP.

:hornet:
Hahahahahaha really? 650(ish) hp is nowhere near 1000hp.

Well ok maybe my memory is getting old like me, but it was closer to 1000 then stock HP.

Haven't had any success with posting pictures. I'm not good at computer work sorry. The link shows the engine and some of the process of it. Checking piston to valve clearance with soft wire. The old block that my rotating assembly cam put of and so forth.
