Had a set of 9005 bulbs sitting in my tool box so I thought I would see if they would fit the fogs. Had to do a little wiggle here and there but they will go. They put out much more light than the factory bulbs. I think it is worth doing.

Just thought I would share

What makes them put out more light are the higher wattage then stock?
Ya the wattage is higher on the 9005, I think they are 65 watts
Same bulbs that are in the high beams
I think the fog bulbs are 9145 and have about 35 watts
I copy & paste useful ideas from other posters, this is one posting about fogs.

Fogs can also be upgraded to 9005 which = BRIGHT! 9005 are 65W high beam bulbs, OEM are 45W. Always buy in pairs.
^^^ That's a good question. I've been holding off for that same reason, and waiting for one to burn out 1st. Sure sounds like a great idea for more light at night.
i've got the sylvania ZXE's in both my fog/high and low beams and holy you will see down the road a ways, almost on the virge of to bright for on coming drivers.

but the 9005's are def. a nice upgrade in the fog posistion
Think it would be to much to take my HIDs out of my fogs and put 9005 HIDs in ???
To put 9005's in the fog lights what kind of modifications need to be done too the housing of the light?? And is it a direct plug in??
^^^ From what I've read here, it is plug & play. If the bulb is a bit bigger, may have to wiggle it a bit to go in. I want to use these too, just waiting for one to burn out first
Edit: It was a very easy instal
hows the heat?? any problems?
The 1500 guys have been doing this for a bit... Based on the past posts I've seen, they haven't reported any problems...
I just installed these bulbs today, WOW what a difference. I wish I would have done that years ago.
I just did mine the other day. Huge improvement, especially with the time change!

X2 they work great!!
Damn you people. Now I gotta go buy 9005 bulbs lol. I hate the lack of lighting, and don't like HIDs. The dogs def add tons of light so adding 9005 may be my solution. The back roads to work at 0530 suck for me.

I ordered mine from Amazon... Cheapest prices I could find. I went with regular Sylvania 9005 so the color output would match the rest of the stock lights.

Just did the same thing lol. I don't like after market lights besides maybe silverstars, but they burn out fast. Can't wait to get these bad boys.

I was in town and stopped at advance auto.. $10.99/bulb. No thanks. $6/ea on amazon lol.
