I just bought a edge juice with attitude and a new injection pump. I installed the juice first so I could see what my lift pump is pushing before I put the VP44 on. I have 14 or 15psi when driving normal but when I put it on the 5th setting and mat it it will drop to 8psi is this normal or should it always stay above 10psi?
PS, anyone driving a stock cummins needs to get a chip it really wakes her up!

Welcome aboard. There are probably 2,000 posts on this very subject. You need 10-20psi at all times. Stop running above stock levels until you upgrade your lift pump. Pure Flow Technologies and FASS are the dominating manufactures for these products, but you've been told that before.

:ditto: The factory fuel transfer pump is good for just that, transfering fuel. a new healthy pump is usually around 15-17 on a stock engine. Once you fuel it up a bit it just can't hang in there.

Had the same problem when I first installed my Edge Juice/att monitor...My FP would be fine until I had my Edge on 5x5...FP would go to 0-1psi...stock lift pumps can't handle the fueling the the fuel box wants..so..I added an Aux lift pump that gave me 35psi all the time..idle-WOT. That ain't good either...I ended up trashing my VP with too much FP. VP's like no more than 22psi absolute MAX psi...stay at 18-19 idle and 14-15psi WOT and you will be just fine...so...until you get a new fuel pump setup....Don't drive it in anything other than stock...if you do...you will trash your current VP...at least you have another one on hand...Both the FASS and AIRDOG are solid performers...AirDog is cheaper to buy...or at least mine was.. think about what you are planning to accomplish with your rig...then get the appropriate setup. so you don't have to upgrade later on down the road. you will shell out the $$ up front...but you won't be disappointed and it will keep you ride safe from fueling issues at the same time. I have the AirDog 150...and I never have to worry about getting less than 15psi WOT Edge 5x5....with the 1/2'' fuel lines...plenty of fuel!! and no air in it!!! have fun!! I know I do...next stop...100hp sticks, new turbo (haven't decided single or twins) and DD clutch. WooHoo!!! :headbang:

dump the stock pump, pick up an airdog, fass, or raptor. your VP will not survive long with less than 10psi of fuel

I was pretty sure I had to stay above 10psi, my vp44 is already shot so I guess I should wait until I get a new LP before I change it. will a raptor pump be enough? I only have the chip and planning on putting a cold air intake and that will be it for performance mods. thanks for the help!

Fuel & air separation is just as important as good positive fuel pressure. I run Air Dog 150's on all of my VP powered trucks without the first problem.
take it from GUS!! he's right...Love my AirDog 150!! NO AIR makes your truck feel much better.....I just got myself my Hot unlock for my Edge...and geez...what a difference!! WOW!! Love it!!. AirDog handles it...no sweat!!:headbang:

the air dog has to be mounted under the truck because of it's size doesnt it? if that's the case it's no good for me because I drive my truck in some pretty retarded places when I go fishing and hunting, it would probably catch a rock or stick.

depends on which one you get...you go with a FASS HPFP or AirDog Raptor ( the are essentially the same unit)...the tuck in really nicely and wont get caught FASS 150/150 or the AirDog 150 will have the filter modules and will hang down a bit.... all depends on where you mount it..

Farmboy, I have a new injector pump with a fass ddrp, relocation kit, etc. I am pushing 17psi idling, 12 when driving normal. WOT will pull it down to 6 psi until you back off of it. No banjo bolts, all straight or 90 degree fittings. I am thinking that it may be a problem in tank with the screen on the bottom. What is your experience with this problem? Gauge is correct. Have checked it with mechanical and both on the money. Gauge is mounted at the injector pump. Thanks.

If you are on a budget the Raptor will treat you right. If you can spend a little more coin the AD or Fass have the benifits of air removal, giving you better injection timing.
