7100 pump on 1st gen

is it intercoold or non intercooled.

24V head will not work on an engine that's still using a 12V piston. Think about where the injectors are on a 12V vs. a 24v. The bowls in the 12v piston are off centered to account for the injector angle. The 24V have a centered bowl and a the injector centered over the piston. Not the best description I know, but it's the best I could do from my iPad.

I believe the cam on a 24v is different, and no lobe for the mechanical LP on a 24v cam.

Might be easier to Ppump a 24v engine unless you're already replacing pistons and cam ect. and drop it in your 1st gen. That is if you want 24 valves and a Ppump.

thats fine some guy just told me you could. hes a scraper and rips trucks apart and rebuilds them all the time so it seemed credible. but you never know. thanks for the information.

if its intercooled it has 7mm injectors,that means you can put ppump injectors in. you have to pull the cam and change the timeing cover to the ppump style,change gear ,ppump injectors have diffrent size lines,you have to cut a notch in head for the overflow valve.

I got a question, what is the other difference in the injectors neways I have the 7 mm style and there pretty new 5x16's y would I have to change them to the p pump injectors?? different break pressure is it sumthing internal??:confused013:

ppump injectors have diffrent size threads than ve pump injectors.ve takes a 17mm wrench ppump takes 19mm wrench if i rember right.cant rember the size of threads.
