I’m thinking of going with the g56 or maybe a nv5600. I just can’t see spending 8k on a built trans. Has anyone completed this swap with good results?

from what I read it's not worth it to swap. Cost wise is up there and you'll be what? a different stock transmission vs. a built one that can handle the power?

Well I’ve read and heard that the g56s can take a beating if girdled. And with a good dual disc. And being able to select my own gears is another reason. I could do the whole swap for 4gs. That’s half the cost of a built auto.
