Looks like a neat idea if it all worked out..I like how you say its "impractical for a pickup", I know its hard to believe but some people have 3/4 and 1 ton 4x4 diesel pickups for grocery getters....(that oughta stir something up...) Not saying that I'm not one of them some days but impracticality seems to be the norm for most these days...

read about that in pop mech a while ago. its a neat concept, but it seems like it would be unsteady and hard on cylender walls and piston tops.

I remember hearing about those motors when I took thermo. Pretty cool:thumbsup

Two things that wouldn't be a concern would be carbon deposits or ring seating. With steam cleaning every third stroke, it'll never have deposits of carbon, or oil on the cylinder walls to lubricate the rings.
